Whether you are looking for an intense rowing work out, a leisurely day on the water, or a great family activity, kayaking is the perfect choice. We'll help you choose the right kayak and offer an introduction to kayaking, if this is your first experience.
Kayaking is perfect for exploring the mazes of inlets and low water areas of the Texas coast. Kayaks allow paddling in low water areas, so you can paddle to more pristine areas inaccessible by larger boats.
Lighthouse Lakes TrailsYou can also visit the Lighthouse Lakes Trails around the historic Lydia Ann Lighthouse on North Harbor Island. This is one of several paddling areas setup by the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife specifically for paddling. There are a series of four trails ranging from about 1 to 7 miles. This can be a great way to get some very enjoyable exercise while viewing some remarkable scenery.

Bird WatchingKayaking can also be exceptional for bird watching. Kayaking allows you easy access to shallow waters and areas not accessible from land. There are no motors or intrusive noises to scare the birds.
